Congratulations to Brittney B. for being named our SuperMom of the Month! She is receiving a $100 gift certificate!
Brittany has been a member of Charlotte Moms for almost a year and a half. She comes to this group for support, but really offers it more than anything. She has kind, empathetic, and understanding words for moms who are struggling. She is a marvelous example and I am so thankful she is in our community!
Can you tell us a few things about your family? I have an 8 year old named Noah. I am pretty much a single mom for most of the part.
What things do you struggle with as a mom? I struggle with working full-time since my job is very demanding. As well as traveling a lot, having to do after hours events, and having to find and pay sitters etc.
How do you balance time for yourself? I always make time for my son on weekends and make it a point to help out at his school when work allows it and get him involved in sports. I also have me time and do things I like to do, mani/pedi, have a glass of wine get a massage. Because if I’m so overwhelmed with work and mommy hood I am no good for my son. My attitude is crazy and I get overwhelmed.
Why do you like Charlotte Moms? Charlotte Moms gives me a place to ask for advice, give advice and sometimes just vent. It’s also given me hope to find other mom friends which everyone needs. It’s a great support group when you feel like you have no one else.
What makes you want to be supportive of other moms? I like to support other moms because I am a mom and my mom was a single mom so I have been through it all, the good, bad, and ugly of parent hood. I’m fairly young but with an old soul so I feel like I can sympathize with all moms to a certain point.
If you could offer advice to a new mom, what would it be? New mom advice don’t let the kids sleep in your bed lol. Sounds crazy but that’s one thing I would change if I could go back, because now I have an 8 year old still in my bed. Also, take time for yourself you have to mentally and physically take care of yourself so your children see the benefits and they also know the importance of self care. Let them be independent that’s a major one teenagers and some adults these days can’t do things for themselves because they haven’t been taught.
What is your favorite restaurant? I don’t know if I have a favorite restaurant I like all food
Do you have a guilty pleasure? Guilty pleasures are reality TV, massages, wine/vodka and just being on the couch in pajamas eating and drinking with no worries in the world haha.
Anything else fun or interesting about you?Interesting thing is that I was in Miss Teen NC when I was a freshman in high school and placed 5th. I like to meet and talk to new people and I have been at the same company for 12 years, my first job when I moved to Charlotte. Seems pretty rare but I think it’s interesting.
is proud to sponsor September 2018's SuperMom of the Month!
